Changes in RSA - Nodes with the same coordinates

Greetings

Ive developed an external program for truss design a few years back, that wont work with RSA 2015 (at least not without modification).

Ive tracked down the problem to the fact that nodes and bars that have the exact same coordinates no longer merges when you run calculations.

Is it possible to reenable this functions in RSA?

Regards,

Robert

Maybe I did not understand your point....

Hey, thats whats not working in my automated models anymore!

The nodes are in the exact same place:

It seems you have two rigid links there
one connecting node 8 or 14 with 12 and 10
another only in node 8 or 14
so 2 nodes with rigid links can not be merged
If it is not the case please send us model

Well, yes you're right. However if I delete the non-connected rigid link, they will still not merge.

Crap! If I open it in recovery mode it works. Thats bad, since its my third party program that generates the model from the start.

Do you know some way to figure out what is wrong with the original model?

You have deleted RL fro slave nodes but not from master nodes as I suspected

Yeah, but the problem persists. Even if you replace all the rigid links with short bars.

You have also "duplicated" supports there.
Remove supports from nodes 14 26 44 112 124 142

Yes, this changed behaviour in RSA is what is causing this.

I'll dive deeper in our code to make our program handle the nodes in a more exact fasion.

Thanks

On second thought, isn't this a fault in Robot? If you open the model in repair mode, all nodes do get merged.
