Cant open Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2012 (student version)

Hi so everytime i go to open up Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2012 (student version) it comes up with an error report and i cant open it, the same thing happens when i try to export to it from  revit structure. I have tried re installing it a few times to no avail and i have also tried downloading service pack 5 and ipv6 support upgrade but still no luck. My computer will not uninstall the software either which is a pain so I am stuck and do not know what to do. It was working fine a month or so ago but when i have used it lately it just doesnt work. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

James

Hi James,

please follow these steps:

1/ open Task manager and check for robot.exe processes still running - if running please close them

2/ delete the contents of folder

C:\Users\your_login\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis 2012\CfgUsr

3/ try to run Robot

4/ if Robot crashes and Customer Error Report window will be opened please specify your email address and sent the report - it would enable to identify it

5/ check the log file RSAPRO2012Adlm.log in the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM

Are any new records added to this text file in relation to point 3/  - check data and time. ProgramData is a hidden folder - changing explorer settings may be necessary to see it.

6/ where any new files created in CfgUsr folder I mentioned in point 2/

If steps 1/ and 2/ do not help please contact me using Private Message - remote access session may be the most efficient in this case.
