Building Base Level

Hi, when assigning stories, does the building base level correspond to the bottom of all substructure elements i.e. basements, piles, foundations etc. or does it correspond to ground level i.e. location of building base shear?

It is the lowest level from indicated by mouse or the level set by you manually

Still not quite clear.  In seismic design (building period determination), the height of the building is usually calculated as that above ground.  If I set my base level below ground, how will Robot calculate the building height

The approach you describe is kind of manual approach.

Robot uses modal results (analytical) based on FEM model \ calculations where the defined supports are considered. Definition of ground level does not matter for these calculations .
