Hi,
I seem to have a problem applying surface loads on panels in the local Z direction. When applying a global load to all panels it all works fine, but when switching to local direction some/a lot of the loads dissapear. I can't figure out how to solve this issue.
I've attached a screenshot of the structure with the applied loads. All panels should have a load, but they don't.

I've had this before and some of my colleagues experienced this today too
Andreas, Tony,

🙂 Thanks that's very nice!
Unfortunatly we don't have v. 2013 in the company. Is is a bug releated to the 2012 version?
Andreas you are using EDU version
Let's say it is limitation of this version.
Different tolerance of checking flatness of panels
See below, depending on tolerance this panel can be assumed as flat or not
(Application attached ; assumptions: firts three points of contours \ panels \ claddings are treated as points definig surface)
Haha, yes I'm trying to model the pressure on Darth Vader's helmet if he were to go scuba diving 🙂
The preliminary version was created by an EngD student working for us, that's why it's in the EDU format. Guess we have to model it from scratch again 😞
Thanks for your help!

Your choice.
My suggestions:
1. Download , install and use 30 day trial version of 2013
or
2. Flaten panels in 2012 version ie by addin attached (corrected version of previous one) and correct the worst panels (replace them by triangles), connect them properly (do noy use kinamatic links)
(model sent to you in PM)
or
3. Remove panels, leave bars, basing on bar nodes \ nodes create trianglar panels.
