Buckling curve for flat solid steel sections EN-1993-1-1

Hi,

according to table 6.2 of EN 1993-1-1 for flat and solid sections, curve c should be chosen.

 

Just keep in mind (other users and support team) that for sections type "PLAT", "ROND" from euro section database and also for solid sections created manually (parametric -> rect and pipe) RSA is selecting curve a.

 

Most probably this is happening because RSA in steel design handles solid and flat sections as they were hollow (or pipe) sections. (section symbol on results windows, and also deselecting “hot-rolled pipes” on member definition parameters leads to curve c selection)

This is right. I have asked the development team to add the check for the solid rods and flat bars so that the automatically selected buckling curve is c rather than a. The solution is to force the buckling curve in the member type parameters:
