What is the best way to model this situation? Its ok apply a lateral beam offset?


What consequences can bring applying the offset?

Thanks Artur. This axial force affect the bending moment in a static analysis? Can I ignore the axial force for the determination of required reinforcement in the beam?

 

Perhaps, in the column the axial force cause an aditional bending moment?

pipiyedu meant horizontal offset instead of vertical offset, i.e, eccentricity on columns.

So, in this post:

Using horizontal offsets for RC beams don't influence values of internal forces. They don't cause large increase of the axial force (tension) and significant reduction of the bending moment.

Horizontal offset will increase eccentricity (and hence bending moment) on the columns instead.

hi

sometime horizontal offset have no influence 

I've worked a comparison between Rigid link and horizontal offsets as you can see the results are identical

Check axial forces and bending moments in the perpendicular to the displayed direction for the columns and compare them with the model where you neither have rigid link nor offsets.
