adding a beam midway of one edge of the contour

Hi I drew a contour and applied surface load. Later I decided to add a beam midway of one edge of the contour. What is the easiest way to do it?

1. Define a bar along this edge

2. Divide it into 2 parts

3. Delete these bars leaving the middle node so that you have the origin node of the beam defined

Hi

I meant when adding a beam into a contour area, does the contour divide into two parts, hence the surface load also?

My assumption is that your question is in fact: will the cladding load be transferred to the newly added beam?

Yes, the model generation will do this for you and no additional modification of the cladding is needed.
