Selecting steel connection error

Hi there,

Is there a way to manually apply a designed connection to a node?

The only way i can get the steel connection tabs to work is to select the bars in structure then click on "Create new connection for selected bars".

And then it pre selects the type of connection, etc a beam-column web connection, but i would prefer to use a frame-knee, but when i create the frame knee connection i cannot assign it to a node.

Attached is the typical error message.

Thanks

Steve

After creating your connection you should save its geometry as *.rxd file using File > Save as commands from its geometry definition dialog. Then you can open this definition (File > Open in the connection definition dialog) and replace the default one created in a node of a model.

hi there,

Thanks for the response, but i am rather confused about the saving part.

Not sure where the geometry definition dialog is?
