Hi Bill,
I am having the same dilema here with how a second floor framing plan shows main floor walls including headers and second floor joists and beams supporting them. Have you had a success in making it work? Please advise. Also if you could send me some of drawing samples, that will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Bernad

I need to revive this thread because I need some help as well and I've attached a file for as well. Same as Bill Allen who started the post, I have a Wood Floor Framing Plan and a Wood Bearing Wall/Header Plan. SEPERATE...
What I'm trying to do is set the View Range so that I can combine the 2 plans. Currently if I move the cut plane I can't see the joist framing or the window doors. one or the other. Is it possible to set it up to have these the same.
I was able to do it forcing the headers of the doors and windows up into the cut plane but that's just not proper.
I was able to get it to the point I have attached that combines the 2 Views. Problem with Families though.
The is for the center hallway.
The Open Web Joist Family shows and the 2x8 Dimension Lumber does not show. If I go to the 3d view select the beam system and change it to the Open Web Joist, K-Series Joists.. it shows. If I change it to a W-Shaped steel, C-Shaped Steel, or back to the 2x8 wood it doesn't show.
