Structure 2009, look before you leap

Before upgrading to Revit Structure 2009, find out the status of the API
links for programs like Risa3D, Ram Steel and Etabs.

They aren't available yet, so if you start a new model in 2009, you won't be
able to analyze that model with the engineering program.

Hopefully this situation will be addressed by Autodesk. We seem to get
screwed every year because our client architect has moved to 2009, but we
cannot use his model in 2008. We also cannot upgrade to 2009 yet, because of
the lack of support for the tools to the engineering programs and no ability
to save backwards!
We also have no answer from anyone as to how long we may have to wait until
the links are available. Frustration!

And another thing... when we upgrade our network license to 2009, we cannot
use 2008.

We were told we could use both 2008 & 2009 because we have some clients using 2009 and some of our models will remain in 2008.
I really need to know now which is correct before I upgrade!

I was told that once I activate the network license to 2009, the 2008 won't
recognize the license.

This is for network licensing only.

We have network license and we were told be seller that the latest license version works 3 versions back. I'm trying to get this verified or it was just a reseller that was misinformed.

Expected link release dates, per tech support:
(Today is 4-30-2008)

etabs: 1-2 months
Ram Steel: next month
Risa3d: End of the week

Verified. On a network license, your older versions (up to 3 versions back)
will work. You can run Revit Structure 4, 2008, and 2009 off the same
license.
