Steel Profiles

Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can locate the following families? 'I-Beam"-IPE180 and 'C-Section' 180x70?

Many thanks,

L

Hi,

If you've Revit Structre 2012, you can use the extensions:

families_generator.png

Extensions-> Tools-> Families Generator

Change the regional setting to France:

france.png

And you can load IPE180:

ipe180.png

For the C-profile, you can load the sadef database, but I don't find the 180x70 one:

May be this can help you!

Dear All,  is the link you provided here still relevant for Revit 2013. I'll ask this as a new post too - but being new to revit structures from an architectural background - it does my head in trying to find the right profile within families.

For example, here's my list that I need....but what familiy do I find them in!

US Imperial Range
W
HSS
HSSROUND
MT
ST
WT
C
MC

US Metric Range
W
HSS
HSSROUND
MT
ST
WT
C
MC

In r2012 and r2013, you get content by running the installer.

(Windows  Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features)

Select your version of Revit, and select "Unisntall/Change".

In the installer dialog, click "Add or Remove Features".

It will bring you the the "Maintain Product>Add or Remove Content" dialog.

You want to add checks in the checkboxes next to "US Imperial" and "US Metric".

Once they are installed, navigate to the content location for the install.

the default location is:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\<RevitVersion>\Libraries\US Imperial  or

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\<RevitVersion>\Libraries\US Metric

Then look under the "\Structural Framing\Steel" or "\Structural Columns\Steel" folders- all the families should be there. (The names are obvious)
