Revit 2014 Loading

What is the difference between Line load and Hosted Line Load? Does it affect the analytical consistency of the model?

Hosted Load is asigned to an analytical element.  In case of Hosted Line Load you can place it on the whole lenght of analytical beam or column as well as on the analytical edge of a floor or wall.

Non-hosted line Load can be placed anywhere in the model space.

Usually hosted loads are transferred correctly to a structural analysis software.  Non-hosted loads can be omitted if they are not placed on an analyticla surface or stick element.  It depends on the implementation in a specific analysis program.

Thanks for your reply!

Take a situation like: you have to apply a live load, which vary with space utility over the entire area of the plan. For that you created a slab. Now if you take "hosted area load" than a same load get assigned over the entire floor area. But if you use "area load" than we can apply different load over the different area according to its utility as per the standards.

But than how can we confirm that the "area load" we applied is properly assigned/ consistent with the analytical model? Can we trust on "Analytical check"? If your sollution is :- "go and check in the analytical 3D model for each area..." than that is lot of time consuming task.

Any opinion???
