Reference Plane Viewer bug??

Hi Team,

Im in the middle of modelling a rather tricky roof. I have managed to get a nice reference plane in to the underside of the cladding and have started modelling my structure. It has been working nicely until I tried to use the ref plane viewer to model in so my elements were "in plan".

However for some odd reason the viewer is picking up a different ref plane to the one i have "set". I have checked with my cad support and she believes it’s a bug. Can someone confirm this and if this is not the case can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Please see attached screen shot, you will note the ref plan in the back ground is the ref plane highlighted in the viewer, however the plane in the background is the one the viewer is set to... confused!

Also why can’t you delete a ref plane?

Finally, (this is a bit of a wish) would it be possible for someone to look into non vertical sectioning? Similar to how you can rotate a section about any axis in AutoCAD (yes im one of those annoying people who always compares them ). I have these beams that are rotated in all axes, so with a combination of the ref plane viewer not working and not being able to section out of vertical plane, I have really been struggling with this roof.

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Corey

Can you please attach the rvt file you are working on and the steps to reproduce the issue?

Are you able to draw in the ref. plane?

Do you get any error messages?

Thank you,

Wiorking backwards:

A section (view) is not required to be vertical.

When you create it, it must be vertical, but after that, you can rotate it in any direction you want.

In a perpendicuar section to the one you want to modify (that is, one where you can see it) select the section mark and start the rotate command.

In general, you should be able to delete a ref plane. However, if other objects are hosted on it, you may get a warning or an error.  If you expand the dialog that tells you you can't delete the refplane, what does it say?
