Problem with opening 2012-file in 2013 version

Got a problem after upgrading to 2013-version. When I open my file which was last saved in 2012-version a lot of object are deleted. I get a error-message for this. Suddenly my floor and several beams are missing.

When you are upgrading (you should upgrade a copy) you can check both the element ID number and the error message of the elements deleted by expanding the error dialog.

You can then go back into r2012 and attempt to resolve the errors.

What kind of errors are you seeing on upgrade?  How many elements are being deleted?

I found the problem. We needed to change the parameter in the family which is called Structural Material. Revit 2013 got a new system parameter which is called the same (no so clever if you ask me). So we opened every family with an error and changed the parameter from type shared to family.
