Placing a model on a toposurface

Hello,

Topographer gave me survey data the other day in DWG format. Great. I simply import into Revit, toposurface, building pads, everything works.

But, now comes the building model, which should be placed on the toposurface. The question I have is, what's the best way to place an architectural/structural/mep model on the toposurface?

The problem I have is that the topo data has regular old altitude data. So I get a toposurface which is 1200 meters in the air. The architect simply builds his model on a zero level. First floor is 0, second floor is 3 meters up, and so forth. So I end up with the building 1200 meters below the toposurface.

What comes to mind as a solution is creating a new blank project, and linking the building and the toposurface to it. Then I simply use the move tool on an elevation view to pull the building up to the correct altitude, or pull the toposurface down to zero altitude.

But, I assume there´s another, easier way I haven't thought of, that's normally used to line up models and toposurfaces?

Try the Relocate Project tool:
