Import editable 3D dwg into Revit

Hello,

Can you please advise how to import a 2D or 3D .dwg file into Revit so that the elements are editable?  In other words, so that you can select a vertical line drawn as a column in the dwg file and give this column section properties in Revit.  In this way, the dwg is not a background and you do not need to redraw the column.  Many thanks.

Regards,

Adam

It is not impossible at all. Just make sure you import plain clean geometry. In 2D you can explode the dwg. In 3D make sure you use solids and put them in a family first. Working with DWG is something extraterrestrial for some..
