Finding out what's changed in a model

So you generate your structural model for a building. And you send it off to the architect and the client. The architect sits down and reviews the model, and decides he doesn't like your 600x600mm column in the lobby, and changes it to 400x400mm. "Put more steel in there or something".

Then he sends the model back to you "attached with corrections".

How do you find out what he changed? Is there any tool that you can use to compare the two models and see that there's a column missing, a changed dimension, changed materials, etc?

What's your particular solution for comparing different models, or ensuring dimensional compatibility between architectural and structural?
