Excel file to Revit?

Is it possible to import a concrete beam schedule into RS2008 from an excel file?
If anyone can give me a clue how to do this, or where I can look to find my answer, it would be much appreciated.

If you were to consider third party software, take a look at
http://www.dotsoft.com/revit/xl2cad.htm.

Hi

At last years AU 2007 there was a white paper which showed this.

It showed you how to create a family which could bi-directional update data from an excel spreadsheet
using csv format.

I will upload if I can find it.

Cheers

You can import it into Revit you just cant link it.

1. In excel highlight the cells that you want and copy them to the clipboard.

2. open Paint and insert the cells into the paint file.  Next modify the paint file so that you only see what you want to and save it as a jpg file

3.  Next you insert the jpg file into a blank drafting view in Revit.

It is a long way to get there but you can.
