Drilled Piers

Does anyone have a Drilled Piers Family they would be willing to share? If not, could anyone help me out with creating one?

Thanks.

I'm a steel man myself and don't know what a drilled pier is. If you can
send me a drawing and some info. I'll see if I can help you out.

Can you send me your e-mail address? I have a drilled pier family that I'd be happy to share but it appears that I cannot attach a .rfa file to this post.

I would appreciated, if you can email me the Drilled Piers Family at zillions@yahoo.com also. Thank you.

I looked at the drilled pier rfa and it seemed to me you could use a Round
Concrete Column instead of making a new family. See attached bmp. The one on
the left was a created family on the right a Round Concrete Column. The
Created Family has No analytical line. I'm a Structurl Steel Detailer/
draftsperson not an Engineer so I really don't know if this is important.
From what I understand the whole purpose of Revit Structure is for
analysising. Maybe someone else could chime in and clearify this.

I started with a round column but the problem with that is a column family has a reference level at the top and the bottom (makes sense for a column). A drilled pier by contrast needs only a reference level at the top. The lengths will vary depending on the amount of overburden soils and required penetration into bedrock. I ran this through the developers at Autodesk and they suggested I start with a foundation family and modify the extrusion to be round.

With respect to the analytical line, it's not really important to us in that we design piers individually (not included in our analysis model). We use our analysis model to get the pier loads.
