Default Notch settings

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the default notch setting from 20mm to 10mm. I am sure there is a simple way to do it, but cant seem to find it.

Dear Andy,

If I understand the situation correctly you would like to know how to change the default cope setting. It seems the deafult setting is hardcoded in revit, so you may need to modify posterior the value for cope.

I have created a short movie about how you can change it: http://screencast.com/t/ZbYvIdYsjY

You need to apply first the cope command on the appropriate elements (in my sample between beams) and then, only after this step, the parameter "Coping distance" will appear under the beam' instance properties. Here you can then modify the cope's distance value.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Thanks Orsolya,

but it looks as this solution would need to be applied to each beam after being inserted. I want to set the coping/notching distance to say 10mm so that whenever i apply a notch the 10mm is the default distance. currently, after opening revit and starting a new project, the notch distance defaults to 20mm. Please see http://screencast.com/t/KE2IQYEs2C
