Create Families

Guys

I'm new to this and need to create a sheet pile family and place it in my model. I go to File - New Family - Metric Templates and open the "Metric Profile" draw the section required. Then i save the .rft file as Sheet Pile on my C:

I then go into Basics - Components - Load and Sheet Pile.rtf
I escape and then go to Drafting - Detail Components hoping to be able to insert the Sheet Pile but it is not there. I am doing this in plan view.

Any advice would be more than welcome.

Barry,

I am new to Revit also, still learning and have not as yet created a new family of any sort. I have noticed though that you wrote you saved the sheet pile family as .rtf (this is the file extension for a Revit template). Try saving it as .rfa

I don't know if this will help but good luck

As family , you should save  in Rfa file.

Or create in Place family for Irregular section
