Column Missing when exported to IFC

I'm trying to export revit structural file to Tekla. I already updated the revit with the newest service pack. However, when I opened the ifc file in tekla, I found there's a column missing. Does anybody have a solution for this?

BTW, I exported the revit file to Navisworks and everything's fine.

The version is Revit 2012.

It is interesting that a single column would be missing when exporting to IFC. If you haven't already seen it, the following blog posting has info on tools that may help troubleshooting issues like this:

I would also suggest checking if the missing column shows up in an independent IFC viewer (such as the Solibri Model Viewer). This would tell us if the issue is with Revit exporting the IFC file or with Tekla importing it.

I tried Solibri Model Viewer and Constructivity Model Editor. In Constructivity Model Editor, that column is still missing. In Solibri Model Viewer, it's strange that the file can be openned but couldn't be displayed in the 3D view. I can see the components info. and seletion tree stuff but nothing's there in the 3D view window.

I think it might be the issue with IFC file. I also found that many times different IFC viewers have different display for the same IFC file that is exported from a revit file. I'm trying to think if there's a more friendly IFC viewer for revit or which IFC viewer you would suggest for frequent use?

I don't have a specific IFC viewer to recommend, but another test you could try is to bring the IFC file back into Revit, and see if the column (or other elements) are missing or changed.

The column isn't there when I openned the IFC file in Revit. Some walls seem to be missing as well. Lost 2 elevations views, too. Others look alright.

Is this the problem in the original revit file or the problem in IFC convert process?

To check if the issue is with the original project file, try creating a new project, using the default template, draw a few columns and walls, export to IFC, and then bring the IFC file back into Revit.
