I can't imagine this hasn't come up before, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere. I am an architect and have started working in a structural engineering firm as a Revit Specialist. I am modeling the structure of a 26 story building in downtown San Francisco that has Bethlehem steel shapes that were rolled on 1924 for its columns and beams. Since we would like all the necessary properties of the steel shapes I need to find them somewhere for revit. But I've had no luck. We also would probably send the model through an analysis program as well, so the properties of these shapes would be important. But maybe Im over thinking it, cause I am an architect after-all! Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Anything will help! Thanks in advance!
Mike
As far as getting this into Revit, you could make a copy of the default "S Shapes" family from the content shipped with Revit and modify it based on the information yosso linked to.
