Arch. walls won't copy using copy/monitor

I am trying to copy/monitor the walls from the Arch.'s linked revit model, however, when I select the walls I want copied and return to my model nothing shows up. Seems the only thing it copies is the wall openings and you can't see them unless you drag across the screen. I have tried everything from copying the original type to changing the wall to something else and nothing seems to work. These walls aren't anything unusual just 7 1/4" thick concrete walls, but with the way they are laid out it would make things a whole lot easier if I could copy and monitor them. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

check in the element properties that your discipline is set to coordination.

That was the ticket! Thank you very much...But, can you tell me why the discipline matters? Seems like it should copy no matter what you discipline is set to. Just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, thank you again for your help!

'Cause when you copy an arch wall, it's set to non-bearing, and structural
views don't show non-loadbearing walls. You'll probably want to modify the
walls' properties, and set the view back.

I wouldn't modify the walls unless you need them to be load bearing. If they are load bearing then the architect should set them as such.
If you right click on one of your walls and go to element properties under structural it says strucutral usage nnext to it you can cahnge to be bearing, non-bearing, shear and structural combined. i've set mine to structural combined. hope this helps

I haven't changed them yet, so I will try the structural combined and see how it works. Thanks again for all your help.

I'm not sure the load-bearing vs. non-load-bearing distinction exists in
Revit Architecture. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Yes, it does exist. Each wall has an instance parameter, part way down in the properties of each individual wall. All the architect has to do is select one or more walls, change this parameter to load-bearing (for instance) and then save the file. When that copy of the file comes to you, those walls will show up in your framing views without you having to set the view to coordination. That is what those parameters in the Architectural version are for.

I always seem to forget about checking the discipline. Thank you so much
