Y Strainer Wrong Direction on Pipe

Adding lib Y Strainer to pipe going to pump suction. Strainer is in correct position when hovering over the pipe, but rotates 180 degrees once I click on it.

Not sure how to rotate it or is there a way to change assume direction of flow?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

When you select the fitting, an icon with two opposing arrow will appear. Clicking on that will flip the fitting. I think that the initial orientation of the fitting is also based on the direction in which the pipe was drawn.

Strainer is piping accessory and can't be flipped. Did work when I redrew the pipe. Thanks.

This is really annoying since most cases it's easier to start pipe from equipment connector then connect to header pipe above.

The Pipe Accessory exhibits the same behavior as the fitting, and allows the same option to flip. If there is no flip icon that appears upon selection, then the control may not be present in the family. Open the family for editing and go to the Home tab, and you will see "Control". Click on this and you will be given some options you can apply to the Family. Go to the "Ref. Level" View, Select 'Double Horizontal', and then click to place the control icon. Load back into the project, overwriting the original.
