Worksharing Monitor & User ID

Our firm is small and as senior people get new machines the older machines are passed to more junior people. The extent of the set-up for the new user is to make sure that the other person's personal data is off the machine and then a new user id is created in windows XP for the new user (no wipe and reinstall, etc so as to minimize any "IT" time). However, when using Revit and the worksharing monitor Revit still reports it's current user as the 1st user that was set-up on the machine, even if the we take the time to wipe the original user account from the XP box.
If both user's are working with the same Revit model the worksharing monitor throws up an alert that says the same user is accessing the file twice and you are in danger of corrupting your local file and confusing the worksharing monitor.

Does anyone know how to change the 'Current User' that Revit reports back to the worksharing monitor so it reports the person that is actually logged into the machine? Edited by: jwmapogee on Mar 28, 2009 11:06 AM

Settings->Options-> General Tab - Username

from help file
Username
Username is the identifier Revit MEP associates with a particular
session. The first time Revit MEP is run on a workstation, it uses the
Windows login name as the default Username. You can change and save the
Username. In subsequent sessions on the same workstation, Revit MEP
defaults to the saved Username, not the Windows login name.
If team members are not consistently working on the same workstations
day-to-day, they must be sure to reset the Username for each session
because the default name will be that of the previous user.

In a multi-user (worksharing) Revit MEP environment, editing permissions
are based on the Username. Two (or more) active local files (or a local
file and the central file) should never be edited under the same
Username; doing so could cause the local files to be incompatible with
the central file.

Thanks Tom. I completely missed that input line when I went into the options. Thanks for the help.
