visibility on annotations

If I remember correctly, you used  to be able to create tags where you could associate visibility parameters to various things you wanted the tag to call out on an instance basis. This doesnt seem to be the case anymore. Is anyone else capable of doing this? Thanks

Do you mean, for example, to add a secondary Label to a Tag, create a Yes/No Instance Parameter, and then link the secondary Label's Visibility to that Instance Parameter? Is that's what you mean, then no, this has never been possible. It would be nice to be able to do, but Instance Parameters in Tags are not accessible once they're in the Project environment.

have a look at this link. Its not exactly what I had in mind but its pretty close to the same sort of fuctionality. It appears that once-upon-a-time it was possible. Thanks

The big difference is that those are Generic Annotations, not Tags. A Note Block, which is a Schedule for a given Generic annotation Family, is employed by that technique in order to schedule those Families.

Ok well it implys that you are supposed to be able to add shared parameters to the generic annotation family, but you cannot. They are greyed out.. How can you schedule family only parameters? Thanks

Correct, you cannot add Shared Parameters to a Generic Annotation Family. However, the Note Block is a special Schedule that can reference normal Family Parameters that are in the Family. They don't have to be Shared Parameters because the Note Block only Schedules instances of a single specified Family.
