Viewing Building Control Parts

To All....

O.K.,I think I’ve been through this before:

(http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Revit-MEP/Revit-Missing-Section-Tag-and-other-Objects/m-p/351...) however, I believe I’m still not getting it (obviously) and this is driving me nuts.

After creating a few new parametric “Test-Parts” for Revit (creating a Revit Family) I loaded the family of parts into my “Test-Building” (Milt-Home.rvt). The big issues at hand now are getting my parts to show up in the proper views.

I’ve tried overriding the disciplines so that my electrical devices show up in my Mech / HVAC levels.

Clearly they are there (in the model) however the parts are not showing up.

It seems as if I don’t set the view to wire frame, I never see the parts, or they appear transparent, (refer to pictures).

As usual any help, or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Are your elements completely concealed within the wall?

What discipline is that View set to?

Cory,

Thanks for your response... just wanted to let you know these items are not inside the wall.

I'll have to get back to you in regard to which discipline these item are  apart of (since I'm on another project now).

That being said, I've tried to force everything to be visible on the Mech-Level-1 (which is  my HVAC / Bldg Ctrl level).

Again, anything you or the other users in this group are able to provide as far as help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

To help us get a better idea of what you are seeing, can you please post a small file with the families?

Chris,

Sorry for not getting back to you any sooner.

I will "try" to post up the "Test-File" (Milt-Basic-House-Drawing) for you to look at, or review.

Also, I am attaching my links to the orginal picture file to show how I was trying to represent informaton.

Again, any information that you can provide would be helpfull.

Talk to you later,
