I know of no way to do this other placing 2 different ducts, with one above
the other. You cannot join ducts together to make them move together
either, nor can you use the Align command to align the ducts.

Since ducts attach to systems, you cannot have just one physical duct with
two different sections either.

I hope that I am wrong and am missing something.

Sorry.

Thats disappointing since this is a very common fitting done in the

Hmmm.... Are you looking for a split duct or a fitting?

Not to sound sarcastic...I'm looking for anything that can produce an
horizontal split in a duct so as for instance a 30x20 duct can have the top
half split off a 30x10 say to the right and the bottom half a 30x10 to
continue straight.
Do you think this can be done and still be all connected?
Thanks for any help on this!

I had a client that liked to run two round ducts off the end of a rectangular duct, so I modified the end cap family to have two
round connectors added on. You should be able to do the same with rectangles. It won't be exactly correct, but at least it will
connect.

The Align command does work with ductwork. But you are correct, you can't split a piece of ductwork in half. However, you can use a fitting to accomplish the task.

My apologies as I misunderstood your request. I believed that you were
after one continuous duct that was split into a top portion and a bottom
portion for its entire length. You have received some good answers for
actually having one duct split into 2 ducts as that is a connection fitting.
