Symbol layer overide?

We are currently working on electrical connections in Revit 2013. At the moment we have a large piece of equipment mounted on the ceiling, and a receptacle in the same vertical space, about 4' below. However, it is impossible to see the receptacle because the equipment masks it. Is there a way to show the receptacle symbol on top of the equipment without changing its actual elevation?

The quick and easy way would be to use the Linework tool. Select the receptacle, and pick Linework (LW) on the Modify toolbar. Then you can use whatever line style you choose to override the hidden lines.
