Stuck in Revit Formula

I'm trying to add a formula in a schedule that says "if the Name of an area is CWLK, then divide its square footage by 2, if not then do nothing."

I translated that into "IF(Name="CWLK", (Area/2), Area)" but it's not working. HELP!!

Unfortunately, the problem here lies within the software. Currently in Revit, one simply cannot reference Text type parameters/data in a conditional statement.

Assuming that "Name" is Shared Text Parameter requiring manual entry and that the only two valid values for this parameter are "Area" or "CWLK", there is only one mean of accomplishing your goal. You must this Shared Parameter (or Project Parameter) as a Yes/No (named "CWLK" or something) and then create a Calculated Value (Text) that returns "CWLK" of that Yes/No Parameter is checked. Then, you can create a formula for your "Area" Calculated Value that also functions off of that Yes/No Parameter.
