Show different valve symbol in Medium Level View

Our office uses a different symbol for valves than what comes standard with revit. How would I change it so that the symbol that displays in the medium detail view is something that I specify?

If you mean the symbol that is part of the family? Then you would have to modify the valve families and add/modify it in there.

Inside many of the valve families there are lines to represent the valve symbol.
