Setting U values for windows?

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to define specific U values for windows?

You can change the "Analytic Construction" in the type properties of the window that will change the u-value accordingly. I seem to recall there being a way to add a custom u-value by editing the .txt file, but I'm not sure if that method actually worked.

Thanks, abulla. But what if I need to be more specific, because there is nothing that's really close to the U value I need in that list....

You should be able to add custom u-values by editing the Constructions.xml file located here:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2014\en-US

I don't have a lot of experience editing XML files, but it looks like you can just copy/paste a section and change the u-value.

Does anyone know where that file went?

It seems to be missing in the latest 2018 build...

...and actually now I cant see it in the 2017 folder either...
