saving to central

We are getting an error when i save to the central file. saying that someone else needs to save before i can. Then he goes to save to central and gets the same thing about me. And one of us are not even in the file, and we're going back and forth just the two of us. Any suggestions.

thanks

Are you working off of a copy (Saved Local Drive) of the central file? We have our projects set up where the main Central file is on the server and we each have a copy of the central file saved on our desktop, while being linked to the main central file on the server. Have you tried "reload latest" (rl) then "relinquish all mine" under the file pull down menu? What version of Revit are you using?

You don't need to be working in the project to have ownership of Elements on the Central. You should be relinquishing ownership of elements at the end of each session, that will help to avoid these situations.

We are releasing a White Paper on Revit Platform Best Practiccs to all Subsctiption Customers today, and that will provide a lot more information on Worksharing. Check out my blog for a post on that later today.

This is starting to look like a pattern...

Have you by any chance converted this project to 2009?
If so, did this problem start shortly after?
If not, do you happen to have revit files linked in? Spaces?
