What is the best way to create electrical drawings when you have the Architectural Floor; Can I use the actual file I received or should I link it? New on revit MEP. thank you

Hi Mate,

The best way is to open a new sytem's template and then link the existing architectural Revit model.

Cheers,

Mehdi

If you just installed Revit and have no clue what you are doing, you should either sign up for a fundamentals class, or pick up a book. I would pick up one of these:

The Aubin Academy: Revit MEP 2014 [Book]

Mastering Autodesk Revit MEP 2014: Autodesk Official Press [Book]

There's also a slew of online learning resources. If you're on subscription, check with your reseller - they may offer training courses.

Bottom line, this isn't a software you can just pick up and figure it out as you go along. You need some sort of training just to get started.
