Revit MEP Clash Detection

I am using AutoDesk Revit MEP 2012 an do not have the Add-IN tab so I can run the “NavisWorks SwitchBack”.

I was told that I may need to Uninstall Revit and Reinstall it making sure that I selected “Express Tools”.

I did this, but I was not able to find an “Express Tools” option to select.

Do I need to have NavisWorks to do a clash detection?  I have “NavisWorks Freedom 2012” loaded, if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Randy

Randy,

yes you must have Navisworks Manage in order to do Clash Detection within NW.  Freedom is strictly a viewer of worlds "published" by NW Manage.  Any Revit flavor needcs to be installed prior to installation of NWM in order for NWM to find tehm.

I am installing the Free Trial "Navisworks Manager" now. After the installation is done, will I need to uninstall and reinstall Revit MEP to get the ADD-In Tab?

Do you know how much it is to purchase it will be?

Thanks

Sorry, I thought you were from Autodesk. You can disregard the question of cost.

Hi Randy,

If you had RMEP already installed when you installed NWM, it should have NWM should have found it. Reinstalling RMEP won't probably help.......I thnk what I ended up doing is manually adding the lines to my RMEP ini file.

As far as costing goes, you'll need to talk with your re-seller.

Good Luck.

Mike
