REVIT LINKS

Is there a way to SELECT more then one element or family item in a Revit link and Hide in View without turning off the Category? I want to hide them in certain rooms and show them in others....ANY IDEAS? This may be answered in another post but its hard to search for this specific answer...

You can add individual elements within a Revit Link to your current select by the normal method: Highlight the desired element (without clicking), press TAB until the individual element is highlighted, then hold CTRL and click.

This can be monstrously arduous to perform if there are many elements and/or Views to apply this to. I would recommend creating a View Filter is the task proves too time tedious. You can create a View Filter of which the Filter Rules specify an Element by Family Name or Type Name, and it will "reach through" the link and affect those embedded elements without affecting the rest of the model. This View Filter, in turn, can easily be modified and added to additional Views or View Templates.

Also consider the reasoning for hiding those elements. Are they for future phases? If so, look into project phasing.

If the application is right, and you are using worksets, another workset could also do the trick.
