REVIT/BIM in refinery construction

Hi,

I am curious to know if Revit MEP can be applied in Gas/Petroleum Refinery construction. Please advice me if it is useful or there are some better options available.

Thanks,

Anoop

Hi Anoop,
We haven't used Revit in a refinery project yet, to my knowledge.
We have used it in conjunction with other software for the design of large process sites such as mining & primary production.
I'd sooner not answer further on a public forum, but you are welcome to contact me directly for more information.

There are more specific options available for process piping like PDMS http://www.aveva.com/products_services_aveva_plant.php and AutoPlant http://www.bentley.com/en-US/Promo/AutoPLANT/AutoPLANT+main+page.htm which I have used in power plant construction although this was several years ago. I guess Revit would work but you'd spend a lot of time creating content for all of the specific valves and piping types used in process piping.
