Revit 2014 creates a file_name_log folder besides the backup folder for central files containing some txt log files. I couldn't find any documentation about this folder, which seems to be new for 2014. Can someone explain how to eliminate these log files from being created? They take up a huge amount of space.

This is a known issue for Revit 2014, the solution would be to install update 2 or later for Revit 2014:
