Populating Schedules w/ Annotation Families

Can you populate "Annotation Family Files" into a revit schedule? For example, if I have a light fixture with an annotation symbol family in it, can I create a parameter in the schedule that will show the symbol in the column?

They have had multiple requests for this functionality. It would be nice if a schedule could pull from either Generic Annotations or Detail Items. Alas, this cannot yet be done. To comply with our company standards, I had to create a drafting view and create a list of symbols manually to underlay behind the schedule in which I created a blank field.
