plumbing views

i am new to Revit MEP and i am currently working on the plumbing plans, specifically sanitary lines, and my major issue is that i draw my pipe in at the offset i want in plan view, then i go to my elevation view to connect the pipe to the fixture, and once i connect i get a warning saying that the pipe cannot be seen in the view, and disappears from the plan and elevation view, and is only visable in the 3d view. i have checked my VG, and my view range and everything seems to be correct and checked. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the wrong, or any ideas of what to fix?

most likely you have a filter set with the "visibility" check box unchecked

it may be that you are getting the correct connection, and that "Sanitary" is unchecked in your view unintentionally.

or it may be that you are hitting a domestic water connection unintentionally, and that this is (correctly) unchecked in the view you are drawing sanitary in

thanks, that is exactly what it was, the filters were turned off
