I have an interesting problem. I am trying to place diffusers and lights in the ceiling of my model and for the most part I'm able to with no problem. I'm using face hosted families for each so as long as there is a face I'm usually fine.
Well, I'm running into some areas where there is a visible ceiling and I can tab select it or set a work plane to it, but when I attempt to place anything on it, I get the error "could not find appropriate host". There are some areas where I can place it in one area of the ceiling but, if I move to another area of the same ceiling I am unable to. See attached images for some screen grabs.
Anyone know what may be going on here? These are linked files which we've had to manage the Revit links folder to even get ceilings to show up, would the architect have settings that would prevent hosting to certain elements?
