Pipe Fitting Size Breakout in Schedule

I'd like to break out my fitting sizes into multiple columns while simultaneoulsy reporting them as numbers. Currently if I add the Size property to a schedule for an elbow I get 6"ø-6"ø. I would rather see this size broken into two different columns; each simply showing 6.  My first attempt was to manipulate the string property with a Calculated Value, but that apparently isn't possible.

Any way to get this the way I want it?

You are correct in that manipulating (or even referencing) the text string is impossible. In order to accomplish this, you will have to create a pair of Shared Parameters and add them to every applicable Pipe Fitting Family. In each Family, you will have to assign a simple direct reference formula to each of these parameters. Once you have identified the Parameter within the Fitting Family that determines the size, add the formula = "[ParameterName]" to your Shared Parameter. You will then be able to access these Shared Parameters in your Schedule.
