Parameters

We're creating standard schedules, so we had to add parameters in the family file that contain data we would like revit to populate the schedules with. The problem is that when I go to create the schedule, the parameter we added in the family file as identity data doesn't show up in the schedule parameters drop down box. Why isn't the parameter that was added to family file available in the schedule view?

You must specifically create Shared Parameters. You can do so under the ribbon -> Manage tab -> Shared Parameters in either a family or a project. Shared Parameters can be scheduled and tagged, both as instance and type parameters.
