New Tool: Local File Creator

For anyone interested, I created a little program that simplifies the management and creation of local files - Local File Creator. You can find a rundown on it here: http://tech.kdcad.com/?p=151 and download it from our LUG's website here: http://www.ramlug.org/?page_id=187. I definately recommend reading the help file. Apologies in advance for the "branding" - it was the only way the company would allow me to share it...

It's been working great for us in house, but please let me know if you discover any bugs or gotcha's. Enjoy! Edited by: pkirill@kdcad.com on Apr 23, 2009 8:29 PM

Because, supposedly, it's made local file creation transparent... It will do it automatically for you when you open your file in Revit 2010.
I think that our firm will be making the switch late Summer or early Fall.

It all depends on our clients, if they continue to use 2009, then so must we, if they upgrade to 2010, then so must we.

Yup - in the settings for the the app I built, you can enter the path to up to three versions of Revit you may have installed and choose which version to use to open the local file - if you choose to open it at all. Sometimes it's handy to just update the local file...
