Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings

Ok... I am NOT a fan of Lookup Tables, but I am forcing myself to TRY and figure them out.  What I want to know is...

 

Can ANYONE tell me WHY the malleable iron lookup tables for US Imperial fittings have the nominal pipe sizes in Inches, (Imperial...makes sense, right?), however, all of the other lookup table sizes are in millimeters?!?!?!
