Loss of flow

So a client contacted me about this issue - I have attached 2 images.

The first - there is a break in the flow - the deep pink is good but when it hits a connection it looses all flow. Why would this happen.

I have not run into this before - but then I don't use it very much.

 

When I select the duct in the parameters the Flow is at multiple values.

With the connection removed it is at 4000CFM 

 

So I am baffled on this...

I am very happy to say that my client Nick has figured out the issue and has gotten everything to work.

He found this in the AU archives : http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/files/me204-3_connectors_in_revit_mep_content.pdf

 

it was a connector issue dealing with the Flow Calculations.

 

From the attached image you can see that everything is working just fine now.

Have you used this tap successfully in other areas?

Check the family connectors and I would expect both to be set as fitting with the family type as tap.  If this is the case then select each of the connectors and change the system classifcation to something other than fitting apply the changes then change both back to fitting and reload the family back into your project.

 

Not always but sometimes will fix this sort of issue.

Anytime I see it used it does the same thing.

I changed the family and it did not fix anything...

 

Any other ideas?

If you create a simple system with mechanical equiptment and two terminals as in the attached video, does the issue still occur with your tap?  If, not it would seem a comibination of the tap and what is downstream/upstream.

If it still occurs, would you be able to send the duct fitting?

Okay - I have a file from my client showing the problems but it is too big to post here. What would be the best to get it to you.

We are not sure if the flow configuration has anything to do with it also.
