Isometric Views

Hello,

I have a building with 9 floors and I need to product isometric views of each floor with their ceiling removed so I'm looking down in the room. I know I can drag the section box up and down to get my required cut but is there a more accurate way I can do this based on the actual building levels?

I can put the 3D view to front but cant seem to display levels.

Thanks

Yu\ou can create 3D views that reference other View, including Floor plans, sections, etc.

Thanks for your reply.

How do I do that?

To orient a 3D view to match a floor plan / section etc, right mouse click on the view cube within the 3D view, and choose the Orient to View option. Select an appropriate view.

The 3D view is cropped to the extents of the 2Dplan, including the view range. You could easily setup one 3D view per floor in this case.

The extents of the views are not linked, so once created if the plan view extents change, just reapply to the corresponding 3D view as necessary.

This is by far the easiest way... Just realize that there is a difference between TRUE Isometric and simply generating a 3D view of something. What I like to do sometimes, when I have a complex looking isometric especially, is draw two lines at 30° angles in my actual sheet facing opposite of each other but connecting at the bottom forming a V. Use this lines to position the building walls for reference and when you hide the building your ISO will be a true iso view. 🙂
