Insulation

Ok so I have to add insulation based on pipe size and system type. So obviously, modifying in the schedules seems like a surefire way. But I go there and there is no dropdown menu to select the insulations from, you cant type it in and you cant even change the type of an insulation to a pipe that has already been added. Am I missing something? I mean I have more than one insulation loaded, why wont Revit let me change these via the nice drop down menu? Do I maybe have to set my sorting and grouping a specific way to allow this feature to work? thanks!

The drop-downs in a schedule usually indicate and "Instance Parameter"
assigned to a particular family/object. In your case either you need to
assign and instance param to your insulations and pipes, or setup the
schedule to read from the "Type" Params and Props...I don't have RMEP open
at the moment to verify, but I'd start looking here.
