Import Architectural Views

I am wandering how i import the views from an Architects Revit model. I am working on a 32 story office tower and I dont really have the time or the patience to go to each floor and create all new views. I would think that there is an easy way to use the views the architect has already created and just change the discipline and view range as appropriate.

Make a copy of the architects file and clean out everything except the views that you need. Then place your work into this file.

Your reffering to templates right? I don't know if your familiar with mep but there is quite a bit of information required in the template file. Not as easy as just "placing" work or linking models.

Take a look here http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=75449

There is really no other way that I know of. This is what we use.
HTH

PS. I would NEVER open the arch and delete also!

go to visibility graphics and click the Revit Links tab, then click the "By Host View" button on the the arch Revit file listed, then click Custom and and select the architectural view you want to apply to your view.

At least that what I think you're asking about.

That is what I was asking for but I was hoping there was a faster method.

that is a terribly long way to copy views, use view templates like they said, and if you still need help... http://revitmep.blogspot.com/2007/12/setting-up-revit-mep-project-from-revit.html
